- Easy Access to Windows 7 Configuration Options
When you want to make a change to one of the settings in Windows 7, one of the challenges is to find open the Control Panel and then try to find where that setting is controlled.
Fortunately, Microsoft set up a feature that we can use, although they did not make it readily available for users. Why not? Because the easy ability to change settings could result in a mess, especially if a new user started making changes just to see what happened, or if a child were to play with the settings.
For the rest of us, one quick place where all (or almost all) the Control Panel settings can be found and controlled is a great idea.

- External Hard Drives Don’t Work With Computer
Subscriber David Wiesner was having problems with his external hard drive:
I have an external hard drive that began frequently shutting down the computer when it was plugged in to a USB slot. The computer would shut down but the power light would be on and the only way to regain control of the computer was to pull the plug or possibly press the reset button, which I did not try.
Eventually the drive would make a beeping noise and I could see Windows XP explorer alternately seeing the drive and not seeing it. Eventually all recognition ceased […]
