- Finding and Restoring Firefox Bookmarks When Firefox Won’t Run
Web browsers are great, but when they won’t work, they’re a real pain. That’s what caused new subscriber K. K. Jain to write about Firefox:
While watching online movies, suddenly my Firefox brouser has crashed. Please let me know how to set it right or otherwise at least how to retrieve my bookmarks so that I can reinstall Firefox […]

With my new design of my Terry’s Computer Tips web site, I now publish articles individually rather than as an on-line issue. That also means that I can link directly to the articles, as I’ve done below:
- Why Someone Chooses to Back Up to DVD’s
Subscriber Richard Fuller provided some more background so we could understand his preference for backing up to DVD’s.
Hullo Terry, May I respond briefly to your preference for backing up to a removable hard drive rather than a DVD? While I take on board your concerns about using a DVD for backups, seven years ago I was taught an expensive lesson about the value of backing up to removable discs. […]
- Outlook PST File Getting Too Big
Microsoft Outlook stores its emails is .pst files, if aren’t on a corporate-type Microsoft Exchange Server mailserver system.
One big problem is that Outlook 2000 and 2003 won’t work with a PST file larger that 2GB. However, that’s not the problem of Keith Fowler, who wrote:
Hi Terry, Thank you for your newsletter. My Outlook pst’s are getting very large – for example my main archive pst is around 20gb !

- Problems Using Outlook with Hotmail
Subscriber Keith Vigon wrote with a problem that he was having when trying to use Outlook with Windows Vista to get his Hotmail emails:
Hi Terry. Here I am calling for help again – maybe yelling! I downloaded Outlook Connector in Windows Vista a while back, and got a large amount of messages like the one below. So I uninstalled it, but got very frustrated not having access to my Hotmail account from Outlook. […]
I love the new design of my Terry’s Computer Tips web site — it makes article posting and maintenance much easier than before. I’m glad I switched to WordPress and the Genesis Theme Framework.
