This week’s email newsletter articles are:
- Acronis Releases New Acronis True Image Home 2012
This week, Acronis released their new version of their hard drive imaging backup program this week, Acronis True Image Home 2012 (ATIH 2012). The new version has some neat new features – I’d read about them on the site, but, even then, I really didn’t realize their impact until I started to use the new program […]
- Sleeping Computer Wakes Itself
Longtime subscriber James Biddle wrote to comment about a tip last week and to ask about an unusual event on his computer:
Great tip on indexing. I had a similar problem.
I have something strange that happens every once in a blue moon. I put my computer to sleep (I never shut it off). The only way to wake it up is via the start button. You can wiggle the mouse or hit keys all day–it won’t wake up. But every so often I ‘ll wake up (I too need a start button) and find the computer has magically switched itself on! - How to Start Windows 7 – Without Putting In Your Password
Occasionally, I hear a question from a Windows 7 user who would like to automatically log-in to Windows 7 when they boot, without stopping to pick the user ID and password. You can do this, but the steps are not particularly intuitive. First, if you have created multiple users on the computer, only one user […]
I love the redesign of my Terry’s Computer Tips web site — it makes article posting and maintenance much easier than before. I’m glad I switched to WordPress and the Genesis Theme Framework.
