Longtime subscriber Robert Herzog wrote to ask about a problem that he was having with his Windows 7 installation:
Hi Terry, I have a windows 7/64 SP1 home premium system and run SFC (the Windows "System File Checker" — Terry) once a month. All was well until last week when I ran SFC and got the
following message: Found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. What can I do now to fix the corrupt files? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I wrote back to Robert to tell him that I did a quick Google search for
windows 7 sfc error "Found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"
and found this link to an article in a forum that Microsoft sponsors: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/sfc-found-corrupt-files-but-was-unable-to-fix-now/3bb2755f-57d6-401a-aba1-74d1f2c56ae5
which I expected to be helpful to him.
Robert quickly wrote back to me to say:
Thank you for your fast reply the information you send worked fine and all is well now.
