It looks like a lot of IE, Opera and Firefox users should have read one of my newsletter articles about Firefox and Midi files.
There was a hidden jewel at the end.
I had two people tell me one Saturday that they had iTunes installed on their computer. Then, they said that they didn’t use it and didn’t have an iPod.
They said that they had iTunes because "you have to get it when you download QuickTime."
Well, that’s not quite true. Sure, Apple makes it seem that way — the only option on the QuckTime page is the QuickTime+iTunes combo package.
But, Apple also lets you download QuickTime without iTunes, if you look hard enough.
But, you don’t have to look for it — the link to the standalone copy of QuickTime is at the end of my Firefox and MIDI Music Files article.

It is fellas like you, Terry; that make it seem possible that there are still civilized and decent people out there peacefully going about their everyday business, even as we are threatened by the barbarians at the gates. And you know which ones I mean, I won’t recall them here and increase their fame. So there! Useless barbarians!! And you know who I mean, you won’t have to have me point you out!!
Some people do not understand how good it feels to do someone a “solid,” to work a good deed on just anyone randomly; some call them “random acts of kindness,” although this is getting so cliched that the villians of the world are mocking us, doing “random acts of vileness.” So, Apple lies to me repeatedly that there is NO WAY to get QuickTime player anymore, unless you swallow their poison apple tag-along, the highly commercial and resource-hungry i-Tunes. Well, fie on them and their misdeeds, and up with the chivalrous and generous acts of kindness that yet exist on the Internet! Cheers!
