PDF Creator Review
"Print" to a PDF File
|
|
Program: PDFCreator
Publisher: independent programmers
License: GNU GPL (open-source, free to use, free to distribute non-commercially)
Category: Printing Utility
PDFCreator is a free, open-source generator of PDF files. PDFCreator works with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
It probably works with Windows 2003 Server also. When you install PDFCreator, it sets itself in Windows as a "printer."
To install PDFCreator, download PDFCreator-0_8_0_GNUGhostscript.exe, and take the defaults on the installation. If you are running a system monitoring program like WinPatrol, you will get a notice from that program that therre is a new "run once on startup" program.
To create a PDF file, simply choose PDFCreator as your "printer" and print a document. If the document prints as multiple pages, you get a multiple page PDF file.
However, you can not print additional documents and have them go into the same PDF file (my favorite tool for that is Click2PDF, which I use regularly).
