Do you ever wonder how to quickly find answers to your computer problems?
I like to answer questions — and I’ve been answering them in my email and online Terry’s Computer Tips newsletters for well over five years. But, I can’t always answer them instantly.
In the 5.5+ years of writing my newsletters, I’ve answered a lot of questions from subscribers, so there are a lot of answers readily available on my web site http://www.terryscomputertips.com.
I’ve posted many of my newsletter articles, where I’ve answered questions from other subscribers, to my web site as individual pages.
The best way to find an answer is to use my Google search box — it’s on the right-hand side of each of my web pages at http://www.TerrysComputerTips.com .
Last week, subscriber Gert Silver wrote me with a question:
I have recently installed a vodafone wireless broadband modem. I works
fine but when I start up my computer I keep getting the message "found
new hardware" at least half a dozen times.
How can I disable the "found new hardware" irritation?
I wrote back to Gert to say that I was able to find this article, which I wrote some time ago, by using the Google search box on my web site, and searching for
found new hardware
Even though it was specifically answering the question with respect to Windows XP, it should give good hint, even if for someone using Vista or Windows 7.
Gert wrote back to report:
Thanks, Terry, this tip has been very helpful.
