Customizing "My Yahoo!"

I've been a user of Yahoo.com for a long time. Several years ago, after routinely visiting www.yahoo.com for months, I finally decided to set up my personal "My Yahoo!" page.

Unlike a MySpace page, this isn't something that is shared with anyone else. I don't add anything to it — for that matter, I can't add anything content directly.

But, I can choose among the many news and other items that Yahoo! has available. I can also add RSS feeds for any blog that I want to monitor -- so, of course I've added all my blogs to my My Yahoo! page.

Once you've added a bunch of news items, television schedules, sports reports, financial news, blogs and other goodies to your My Yahoo! page, it's time to get them organized.

Fortunately, Yahoo! makes this very easy.

It's so easy that it ought to be obvious, but I just found it a couple weeks ago.

All you have to do to move one of the information blocks is to hover at the top of the block, anywhere along the areas where I've put the orange dots in the image above. The cursor will change to a cross-hair cursor.

Now, left-click and drag that entry lower or higher in the list.

Yahoo! figured out a very easy for users to manage the order of their My Yahoo! pages.
