When you use several web browsers, whether just two such as Firefox and Internet Explorer or more, one thing you might want to do is to copy your favorites (your bookmarks) from one browser to another.
Bookmark Converter, from Magnus Brading, is a nice shareware/trialware program that will allow you to manually convert bookmarks in any direction between Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Netwcape v1-v4 and Netscape v5-v7.
Copying the bookmarks/favorites is a simple process, as long as you know where your web browser stores the bookmarks. Bookmark Converter is smart, though -- it handles the bookmarks for the current user and finds their directory by itself. All you have to do is pick the file. Opera calls it opera6.adr. Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox and Opera call them bookmarks.html. Of course, IE calls them Favorites.
One of the options, that you can use (but I do not), is to synchronize the bookmarks between all the browsers every time you boot. Convenient in concept, this is an unnecessary delay when you are starting your computer or rebooting. More importantly, you just don't need to do it that often.
Try Firefox, I think you will like it. Try Opera, if you would like -- it is free now, without advertising, too. While each of these is good at importing bookmarks from each other, they all do it differently. Bookmark Converter makes it easy.
