Subscriber Oz Fisher wrote about a problem he was having with the free Thunderbird email program (which I use):
Thanks for publishing so many informative and useful tidbits of information on the Thunderbird email system. In order for me to create a message screen to send a message in Thunderbird, I have to use the following procedure: Find > New > Message.
I know there is a different screen to use for this purpose, as I have provided you with a snapshot of it in the attachment- but that particular format doesn’t appear on my screen. Would you please advise how I can re-structure my main window to show the screen as it appears in the attachment.
To be more precise, the attachment displays a heading at the top with three main icons: GET MAIL —–WRITE …. ADDRESS BOX. I don’t have that window on my screen. Please advise.
I wrote back to Oz to tell him that it looked like his Mail Toolbar is turned off.
Open Thunderbird. On the Menu bar, click View, then Toolbars. Put a check beside Mail Toolbar.
That should solve the problem.
And, it did…
Oz wrote back to tell me:
Hi again, Terry –
As usual, you’re right on the money, whether the problem is large or small. The Mail Toolbox was in fact turned off. Many thanks for your help.
